The Disclosure Trap / Legal
Your Privacy Rights
Last updated:
Your location and the operator's actual processing determine which legal rights apply. This page explains those distinctions without claiming a blanket exemption or certification.
These pages describe this website’s hosting, publication-notification requests, contact arrangements and related choices.
Current privacy choices
Privacy choices remain separate from author-profile links and agreement to website terms. Use the contact form linked below for privacy and publication-notification withdrawal requests. Requests and withdrawals are reviewed manually.

California privacy
California's online privacy-policy rules and the CCPA/CPRA have different scopes. A small website can have notice duties even when CCPA business thresholds are not met. The operator's business and information practices determine applicability; this notice claims neither a blanket exemption nor universal coverage.
Where the CCPA applies, rights can include knowing and accessing information, correction, deletion, opting out of sale or sharing, limiting certain uses of sensitive information, and protection from unlawful discrimination for exercising rights. Authorized agents may act subject to appropriate verification.
Notification requests are collected for the author's book-publication news. Any use involving third-party direct marketing, sale, or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising would require its own accurate disclosure and any applicable choices before that activity begins.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
The custom content uses ordinary outbound links to public profiles, articles, programs, and sources. Hosting and form infrastructure may process technical information separately. Consult the Cookies & Tracking page for the website's storage and tracking context.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are different browser signals. Their effect depends on the service, activity, and applicable law. A browser signal does not itself withdraw a notification request; you can make that withdrawal through the designated contact.
Where applicable law requires an opt-out preference signal to be honored for a relevant activity, the configured service must recognize it. The operator does not represent a decorative control or an unverified provider setting as a functioning privacy choice.
EU, EEA, and UK rights
GDPR or UK GDPR applicability depends on facts such as establishment, offering goods or services to people in the relevant territory, or monitoring their behavior there. Mere availability of a US website worldwide does not settle that question.
Where applicable, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, or portability, object to certain processing, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Rights have conditions and exceptions. You may also complain to the appropriate supervisory authority; a request to the operator does not remove that right.
Notification requests are reviewed by the author rather than used to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. Any requirement for an EU or UK representative or data-protection contact depends on the actual service and applicable law; this notice does not invent such an appointment.
Requests, complaints, and verification
Describe your request or concern and the interaction involved. Provide only what is necessary. For a longer privacy or accessibility request, give a brief description so a suitable next step can be arranged. Applicable request-handling records are kept for their required purposes.
Verification should be proportionate to the request and the risk of disclosing information to the wrong person. Applicable law determines response periods, extensions, exceptions, and any appeal process. Where applicable, GDPR generally provides one month with extensions in specified circumstances; CCPA requests to know, delete, or correct generally have a 45-day response period with applicable extension rules.
Privacy requests and withdrawal of permission are separate from agreement to website terms. Use the contact form linked below to withdraw a book-notification request. Withdrawals are handled manually, with any minimum record needed to respect the choice. Any later mailing service must provide its applicable unsubscribe process.
